William W. Swor is a highly rated and peer reviewed criminal defense expert with 43 years experience in private practice. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan (Board of Directors), and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
He was elected a Fellow on the American Board of Criminal Lawyers, and is recognized, in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers, 2002-2017. He has also been recognized as an AV rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell for twelve years running.

Mr. Swor has been retained and has appeared in federal courts all over the United States, handling serious criminal charges, in politically charged and high profile cases.
Attorney William W. Swor answers questions from the media following the first post September 11, 2001 terrorism trial. The United States government was forced to admit that two of four men charged in the case were innocent of all charges.
Nine members of the Hutaree militia were charged with Seditious Conspiracy, Conspiracy to Use Weapons of Mass Destruction, and a number of other charges. After two months in trial, the court threw out all of the serious charges, and three of the defendants pled guilty to weapons violations.
The federal government spent millions of dollars pursuing the Hutaree militia. The government held a press conference when the Hutaree militia were intitially charged as terrorists. The dismissal of all terror charges was headline news across the country.
Mr. Swor has been invited to the White House to take part in discussions regarding legal rights and support for Arab American immigrants during Arab American Community Leaders meetings in 2012 and 2013.
William Swor works to support the rights of the individual and through civil rights advocacy and instruction. He works with organizations such as the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Michigan and the National Coalition to Protect Civil Freedoms.
